Young Runners uses a team-based structure to help kids learn valuable lessons about how to set goals and make activity part of their daily lives. With the help of their coaches, students learn to run distances from 1 to 4 miles. While physically challenging, the Young Runners program is designed for children of all fitness and athletic levels in grades 3-12.
NYRR provides Young Runners for free to all New York City public schools. It is also available for free to youth clubs and before- and after-school programs in underserved communities. If you are interested in learning more about the program, email us or click here to see the latest impact report.
At this time, the Young Runners application for the 2016-2017 school year is closed. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to be placed on a priority list for the 2017-2018 school year.
